Our Story

For nearly a century, the Martella family has been a pillar of Roman entrepreneurship—a story that began in 1930, when the Martella family launched their business along the streets of Rome. The patriarch, Ivo, founded the company with a mission to ensure quality and precision in public works, building a relationship of trust with the local administrations of Rome and the Lazio region. This bond with the area, founded on a deep dedication to work and consistent commitment, has allowed the family to grow and establish itself, executing high-level projects and ensuring unparalleled operational continuity.

This very continuity is the secret of the “Martella formula”: the quality of their work, a strong, cohesive workforce, and meticulous attention to every detail. Today, as we look at the numerous projects and achievements, the entrepreneurial spirit that defines each family member is unmistakable. Ivo’s son, Luigi, expanded the business by introducing a new sector that celebrates Rome’s cultural heritage: TOURISM. Thanks to this diversification, the Martella family has broadened its reach, offering exclusive, high-quality tours to major landmarks such as the Vatican, the Colosseum, the wonders of Tivoli, the flavours of Lazio’s food and wine traditions, and the mysteries of the Christian Catacombs.
The family has also opened three tourist reception centres near the Colosseum, the Vatican and Tivoli, offering exceptional service with dining facilities and comfortable lounge areas designed to provide comfort and relaxation.
Today, the name Martella is synonymous with quality and entrepreneurship, a continuous line connecting the past to the future, bearing witness to a legacy that grows and renews itself, always with an eye toward the challenges of tomorrow.
